The 2025 Memorial Tournament Format
It’s stroke play where players count their total strokes, and the golfer who completes 18 holes in the fewest strokes wins. The tournament has 4 rounds from Thursday to Sunday. Each round is 18 holes. The total length of the tournament is 72 holes, and the golfer with the fewest strokes across all 72 holes is the winner. After 36 holes (the first two rounds), a cut line is drawn, and only the top players qualify for the next 2 rounds (Saturday and Sunday). If a player’s score is below the cut line, they don’t qualify for the remaining rounds.
If two or more players have the same score after the final round, they play a playoff. The playoff is sudden death, where the first player to win a hole is the winner.
The Memorial Tournament 2025 Purse
$20 million is the expected prize money for the 2025 tournament. The winner will get up to $3 million, and the runner-up will get around $1.8 million. During the tournament, special prizes will also be given out, like hole-in-one prizes or longest drive challenges.
