Start with a windproof, water-resistant jacket. It is the one you will wear most from autumn to spring.
Wind is usually what ruins a round, not rain. A stiff breeze on an exposed fairway strips the heat out of you far faster than a shower does, and showers pass.
A windproof shell stops the wind, and water-resistant fabric handles drizzle and short showers. For steady, heavy rain, choose a waterproof from the raingear range instead. Ours carry a three-year waterproof warranty.

How should a golf jacket fit?
Snug enough that it does not flap, loose enough that you can turn fully without it dragging.
Before you buy, put the jacket on, take a full backswing and hold your finish. If the fabric pulls across your shoulder blades or the hem rides up, go up a size.
The Nordic has four-way stretch, and the Windward and Kingdom have stretch shells. All three have a tailored athletic cut, so if you sit between sizes, take the larger one.
Sizes run from S (35 to 38 inch chest, 88 to 96 cm) to 4XL (54 to 57 inch chest, 136 to 144 cm).

Which Druids layers go under a golf jacket?
Start with a Druids polo, then add a midlayer as it gets colder.
On a mild day, a golf polo under a lightweight jacket like the Wind Lite is enough. It blocks the wind without adding bulk.
From around 5 to 10 degrees, add a midlayer, sweater or golf hoodie under the Nordic, Windward or Kingdom. All three have a stretch shell, so the extra layer won’t pull across your shoulders in the swing.

Which Druids golf jacket should you pick?
For wind and drizzle, pick the Wind Guard, Wind Lite or Lochwood. For colder rounds, pick the Nordic, Windward or Kingdom, which all have a padded front.
The Wind Guard is the lightest way in, with an adjustable hood, a stand-up collar and discreet pockets. The Wind Lite is a breathable, wind-resistant windbreaker that comes in Lime.
The Lochwood shields against wind and light rain, with a high collar and zippered pockets.
The Nordic, Windward and Kingdom add a padded front, shower-repelling fabric and a full-length zip. Nordic has four-way stretch, Windward a structured high collar, and Kingdom a soft stretch lining.

It should not, if the fit is right. Stretch fabric is what matters: the Nordic uses four-way stretch, and the Windward and Kingdom have stretch shells. Take a full backswing in the jacket before you commit. If the fabric pulls across your shoulder blades, go up a size.
How do you wash a golf jacket?+
Machine wash on a cold cycle with a mild detergent and no fabric softener, because softener can damage water-resistant finishes. Air dry or tumble dry on a low heat. Check the care label first.
Are windproof golf jackets waterproof?+
No. Windproof jackets stop the wind, and many are also water-resistant, so they handle drizzle and short showers. They are not built for a full downpour. If heavy rain is forecast, wear a waterproof jacket instead.
What should I do if I am between sizes?+
For an athletic fit, we recommend selecting the larger size of the jacket. But for a relaxed fit, you may choose your usual size depending on your comfort preference.
