The Tour Championship Golf 2025 will take place at East Lake Golf Club, Atlanta, Georgia, USA. The event first held here in 1998 and since 2004/2005, it’s been the permanent venue for the PGA Tour’s season finale. This is par- 71 field and hole 15 (par-3) is the most famous hole. The 18th hole is a par-5 finishing hole where the downhill fairway and bunkered green forces players to decide between aggressive or safe play. Hole 9 is a long par-3 with steep slopes and deep bunkers. Hole 17 is a short par-4. Hole 14 is a downhill par-5 where you can make a birdie but the pond and bunkers make the approach risky.

In 2023, Andrew Green renovated the course and took an initiative of the East Lake Foundation’s “Golf with a Purpose”. It donates tournament earnings to community revitalization, education programs, and neighbourhood development. Over $42 million donated to East Lake Foundation and affiliated non-profits; $7.2 million in 2024 alone.

For the Tour Championship, expect hot and humid weather with afternoon thunderstorms. Wear lightweight, moisture-wicking polo with golf shorts for comfort and airflow. Wear a cap or wide-brimmed golf hat and UV-blocking sunglasses to protect yourself from the sun and be prepared for sudden showers with a light waterproof jacket or umbrella.

Tour Championship 2025 Schedule

The event will take place from Aug 21, 2025 to August 24, 2025. Here are the details of the Tour Championship 2025 dates:

1. August 20, 2025 – Wednesday (Pre-Event Practice Day)

• Gates open to the public at 9:00 a.m.

• Creator Classic event (top YouTube golf creators like Rick Shiels, Good Good, Bryan Bros, etc.) starts at 3:30 p.m. ET.

• The day is live-streamed on YouTube with crowd interaction.

• Food & beverage zones open.

• Merchandise shops are functional, such as Creator Classic and Tour Championship merchandise.

2. August 21, 2025 – Thursday (Round 1)

• Gates open at 10:00 a.m.

• “HOPE” Opening Tee Shot starts at 11:00 a.m.

• Round 1 starts and players tee off in groups.

• Fan activities on this day include ATL Grove, SO Cool Zone, Coca-Cola Fan Lounge, Back Nine Brews, Bushmills Whiskey Bar, and PGA TOUR Training by NOBULL.

3. August 22, 2025 – Friday (Round 2)

• Gates open at 10:00 a.m.

• Round 2 starts at 11:00 a.m.

• All fan zones and lounges are open (same as Thursday).

• Live music will be performed in the SO Cool Zone.

• A sponsored youth program (meet-and-greet spots for juniors) is arranged.

4. August 23, 2025 – Saturday (Round 3)

• Gates Open to the public at 10:00 a.m.  

• Players tee off late morning or early afternoon, trying to move up the PGA Championship 2025 Golf Leaderboard.

• ULTRA Hour event (Michelob ULTRA beer discount or Back Nine Brews) starts in the afternoon.

• Trick-shot shows and a golf clinic are set up at the practice range.

• Kids’ putting contests are arranged in the SO Cool Zone.

5. August 24, 2025 – Sunday (Final Round)

• Gates open at 10:00 a.m.

• Leaders tee off last (late morning).

• FedEx Cup champion is crowned.

• The Calamity Jane trophy ceremony happens on the 18th green immediately after play. All fan zones are open until the trophy ceremony.

Book your 2025 Golf PGA Tour Championship tickets according to these details:

1. Daily Grounds Tickets

This is the most basic and popular ticket category, giving you access to the East Lake Golf Club grounds where you can watch all the tournament action live. For Wednesday (practice day), the ticket price starts at $30 (plus taxes and fees), and for competition days (Thursday through Sunday), it can go up to $35 or more depending on demand. With a grounds ticket, you’ll get access to public fan zones like ATL Grove, Coca-Cola Fan Lounge, Back Nine Brews, and various food & beverage stalls. Seating is general admission, so the earlier you reach there, the better viewing spots you can get.

2. Youth Ticket Policy

The PGA TOUR’s “Kids in Free” program applies here as well. According to this policy, each ticketed adult can bring up to two children 15 and under for free. This is only for grounds access. The hospitality lounges and VIP areas require separate tickets. Children’s tickets are not issued in advance; instead, they’re granted free entry at the gate with the ticketed adult’s verification. 

3. Military & Veteran Tickets

Active duty, reserve, retired military personnel, and veterans are eligible for free daily grounds tickets. After verification, one ticketed military member and one companion get free entry. This is grounds access only. The hospitality access requires a separate purchase. Military ticket claims are processed online (via SeatGeek or the official PGA TOUR website) and are mobile only. 

4. Student Discount Tickets

University or college students with a valid .edu email address can buy discounted competition day tickets (Thursday to Sunday). Plus, they get a 25% off code for Summit Brands apparel. 

5. Hospitality & Premium Packages

The Michelob ULTRA Club is a hospitality lounge where beer and seltzer are included (other beverages and food available for purchase). The lounge has shaded, air-conditioned areas and great golf course views. Hospitality packages include private seating, upscale food service, exclusive bars, and sometimes meet-and-greets. Pricing is much higher than ground tickets and available through the official site.

Tour Championship 2025 Purse

The total purse of this year Championship PGA TOUR is $100 million and is divided into three parts for the playoffs:

1. Regular Season Top 10 Bonus: $20 million pool with the #1 player getting $10 million.

2. Post-BMW Championship Bonus: $22.93 million divided among the top 30 players with the leader getting $5 million.

3. Tour Championship Bonus and Tournament Purse: $57.08 million total with $40 million as the direct purse split among 30 players. The winner gets approximately $10 million.

The Tour Championship winner will receive the Calamity Jane Trophy and the FedEx Cup Trophy. The champion will also get a 5-year PGA TOUR exemption and 5-year direct entry into golf’s four majors.

These players are vulnerable to being bumped out if those just outside the top 30 play well at BMW. Scottie Scheffler (1) and Rory McIlroy (2) will be paired for the first two rounds. Justin Rose and J.J. Spaun, both coming off a playoff at FedEx St. Jude Championship, are also paired. Rickie Fowler jumped from 64th to 48th in the standings after finishing T-6 at FedEx St. Jude Championship and secured his BMW spot. But he’s 202 points behind 30th-place Lucas Glover. Fowler need at least a top 13 at BMW to get into the Tour Championship.
